CD duplication is ideal for small runs of CDs from just 1 disc to 2000.  The process uses a CD-r disc which has the information ‘burnt’ onto the disc by a low power LASER.  The audio or data information is represented on the disc by the LASER burning the dye layer of the disc making these areas non-reflective similar to the bumps and troughs on a stamped disc.  The overall effect is the same as a replicated or stamped disc as when the CD is read back the CD reader will read the ‘1’s and ‘0’s for the data depending on whether the track reflects the light or not. 

Visually there is very little difference to the untrained eye of the CD under surface as the burn will show as a slightly duller silver reflectivity in the area that has been burned.  Some dyes such as the Taiyo Yuden Watershield disc that we offer for the best photo gloss print quality will have a more marked under surface as the dye has a more purple hue.

We use the best quality A1 grade CD-r with low C1 and C2 error rates for audio and data information.
